Many amazing music artists are from the Bay Area. Some of the Bay Area musicians that you may already know of include G-eazy, E-40, IAMSU, Green Day, Train, and others. All of the artists listed above have had various hit songs in the past. Our founder, Hannah Gee, and co-founder/photographer, Marisol Elenes, are also from the Bay Area and want to highlight a few artists from the Bay Area that you should add to your 2024 playlist.
Jmaye
Jmaye is a Pop artist from the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2023 she has had her song "No Space" on the radio station 99.7 Now. She even went to PoP! 101.9 and 1027 dabomb two radio stations in Hawaii. She has also performed at events like singing the National Anthem for the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A's, Stockton Kings, Water Lantern Festival, WINTER WONDERLAND, and 626 Night Market.
2. NEF The Pharaoh
Nef the Pharaoh is a rapper from Vallejo, CA. He has had various hit songs in the past, such as Big Tymin, Bling Blaow, Beat That Vest Up, and Boss Me. NEF The Pharaoh In the year 2023, he dropped another album, and the lyrics and production of the beats make it an amazing rap album to listen to in 2024.
3. Pure hex
Pure Hex is a five-member alternative and Indie band from San Francisco, CA. They have released various songs throughout the past few years, and their music is genuinely the type of music that you fall in love with the first time you hear it. Our photographer, Marisol, has had the pleasure of photographing them twice, and Pure Hex has such an amazing, vibrant, and unmatched energy on stage.
4. Oceanography
Oceanography, also known as Brian Kelly, is an alternative, indie, and pop musician from Oakland, California. He has projects that are all amazing. His music definitely showcases powerful lyrics and heartfelt themes such as heartbreak. In 2023 he performed various times. Our photographer, Marisol, also had the pleasure of photographing him in January 2023. His performance is so captivating through the use of his amazing lyrics, instruments, and melodies in his music.
5. Gaby Castro
Gaby Castro is a country, fold, indie, and pop musician from Union City, California. She has released multiple projects, and some of her music even contains inspirational topics, such as feminism and mental health. In the year 2023, she performed at various markets in the Bay Area and even uploaded a few live videos on her YouTube. If you are a fan of pop or country, you should definitely check out her music.
